The story:From a research on ultracentenary vines present in our historic vineyards we found out this old variety probably was used as phylloxera answer around 1800. From here the idea of recreating a little piece of vineyard without the american root, looking for a wine “of story” but also of revival.

Crisp and Sapid, fruity and floral on the nose. Structured and mineral palate.

The farm of Gelmino and Cristina Dal Bosco is situated in the hamlet of Brognoligo, in the heart of the Soave Classico production area, which is limited only to the communes of Soave and Monteforte d’Alpone, in the province of Verona.

The company started in 2002, after the family gave up selling their grapes to a local wine Cooperative and began a proper vinification. The farm grows 9 hectares vineyard divided in many small pieces all situated in the hills of Brognoligo. The more united piece is the “Battistelle vineyard” situated in the cru of the “Castellaro” hill and the cellar takes its name right from it. It is here, where the vine-growing activity is a very old one, that between the highest and pebbly hills, where the soil is of volcanic origin that the grape variety Garganega matures and best expresses all its power and gives unique wines, not repeatable anywhere. A mix of structure and elegance surrounded by a well balanced acidity and minerality.

Gelmino’s farm, based on familiar conduction has great respect of the vine-growing tradition of the zone trusting that only working with the primitive vine variety and pressing for a vine growing which expects high quality we can obtain typical and singular wines able to make a positive impression to the consumer. The house sign is the “gerle”, Which were used until years ago to carry out grapes from the hilly vineyards; it is an important document that gives evidence to the ancient vocated area.
